Prominent Sainik and Military Schools in India are:

Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS): These are five boarding schools located in Chail (Himachal Pradesh), Ajmer (Rajasthan), Belgaum (Karnataka), Bangalore (Karnataka), and Dholpur (Rajasthan). They are run by the Ministry of Defence and admit boys from class VI to XII. They follow the CBSE curriculum and have a high reputation for academic excellence and military training.

Sainik Schools: These are 33 boarding schools located in various states of India. They are run by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence and admit boys from class VI to XII. They follow the CBSE curriculum and aim to prepare students for NDA and other defence examinations.

Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC): This is a prestigious boarding school located in Dehradun (Uttarakhand). It is run by the Ministry of Defence and admits boys from class VIII to XII. It follows the ICSE curriculum and has a legacy of producing eminent defence officers and civil servants

National Defence Academy (NDA): This is a tri-service academy located in Khadakwasla (Pune). It is run by the Ministry of Defence and admits male candidates who have passed class XII or equivalent examination. It follows the graduation-level curriculum of JNU and trains cadets for three years before they join their respective service academies
